Description: Together we will create: A Fox/Raccoon adaptation, Birds, Swan, Mice, Sheep, Fish and Rabbit/Bear adaptation, Dragonfly, Cat, Rabbit and Cooper’s Monkey. Running stitches and predominantly the Blanket stitch will be used in the construction and assembly of animal menagerie. Small felt animals can be a wonderful addition to your dolls story. All these are simple and fun to create.

What will Students learn? The student will learn to make whimsical and unique wool blended felt animals that will compliment their doll compositions. A Fox/Raccoon adaptation, Birds, Swan, Cat, Mice, Sheep, Fish and Rabbit/Bear adaptation, Dragonfly, Cats, Rabbit and Cooper’s Monkey using simple shapes like circles, teardrops, rectangles, in wool blended felt, and floral wire.

Skill Level: All levels welcome
Required skill(s): Basic sewing skills

Supplies and tools: 

  • Pencil
  • File folder or Freezer paper for pattern making
  • Wire cutters or any kind of old scissors to cut the floral wire
  • Needle nose pliers will be used to curl up floral wire
  • Paper scissors and fabric scissors
  • Embroidery floss in the colors of the animals
  • Needles
  • One bag of Polyfil
  • Barbara Wills Stuffing Fork
  • Two pieces of twine
  • Metallic thread Copper, silver or gold
  • Seed beads for the eyes
  • Aileen’s Tacky Glue
  • Momi paper
  • Assortment of Wool Blended Felt
